We recognise parents as the first educators of their children and our aims are to build positive working relationships with Parents, Grandparents and Carers though working closely and communicating through the red home/nursery link books which aide communication between working parents and ourselves, to write in anything the child has achieved at home or whilst they have been at Skamps Pre-school Day Nursery and verbal communication through face to face meetings, texts or telephone calls. On our Facebook page we update it to reflect what the children have been doing.
We regularly send out questionnaires to parents to find out what they like, don’t like, what do they want to see improved. Your Views are very valuable to us to help us meet the needs of you and your child.
We also encourage parents to offer their skills during any of the topics we do throughout the year, cooking, creative etc and in developing our knowledge of festivals and celebrations and other cultures. Also we invite parents and Carers to share their pets - to bring them in and show the children.
Parents can come and help out if they wish by putting their name down on the parent’s rota and will have to be DBS checked which can be done through the Nursery. More information can be gained from Gaynor.
We have a termly newsletter, various letters and notes, and also we are on Facebook, which help to keep parents informed on what is happening especially term dates and our topic and we have termly parents meetings with key persons which are based on an appointment system and if parents cannot make their appointment every effort is made to ensure they can see their child’s key person at a mutual agreed time so information can be shared.
